Hybrid cloud isn't unfinished migration. For some Singapore SMEs, it's the right long-term architecture — deliberately, not by accident.
There's a common assumption that hybrid cloud is a temporary, in-between state on the way to being fully cloud-based. Sometimes that's true. But for a meaningful number of businesses, keeping some systems on-premises alongside cloud workloads is the right end state, not a stopping point — because of what those specific systems need, not because the migration stalled.

None of these are permanent objections to cloud — they're reasons a specific system, today, is better left where it is while everything around it moves.
A deliberate hybrid environment has clear, documented boundaries: which systems are on-prem and why, how identity is unified across both (rather than two separate logins and two separate policies), and how data moves securely between the two. Backup and disaster recovery need to cover both sides consistently — an on-prem system that's excluded from the DR plan because "it's not in the cloud yet" is a gap waiting to be found at the worst time.
The useful exercise isn't "cloud vs on-prem" as a single company-wide decision — it's going system by system and asking what that specific workload actually needs, then being honest about whether staying on-prem is a real reason or just inertia:

A unified identity provider (such as Microsoft Entra ID with hybrid join) is the standard approach — avoid running two separate, unlinked login systems, which creates both security gaps and day-to-day friction.
